With this walnut box I was playing with perspective, the inlaid mosaic being at an angle to the frame of the box. The inlaid mosaics on all four sides are thick enough to give them a curved surface the wooden hinges are made from wenge. The box is about three inches square. Wenge is a very dark exotic wood that serves well as it is not so oily to prevent good gluing.
