Description

I made this violin with European maple and spruce. The design inlaid on the back, although similar to one I created a few years ago, is less in contrast to the color of the varnish. The tone is rich and has great projection in the high register. People ask if the inlay takes away from the sound quality, and the answer is no. The inlay consists of the same wood used in building the violin, maple and spruce, and is extremely thin. The central geometric form had to be shap[ed exactly to the contour of the back before it could be set in.
