Description
The maple for this box was from the violin shop of Joseph Bohmann, a Chicago maker who died perhaps thirty years before I was born. Having finally decided that the wood is not so appropriate for instruments, but still admiring its beauty, the remaining pieces that I have are going into other projects such as this box. I was “playing” with carving with the flame of the maple into the laminated tulip wood. The box is seven by seven and a half inches and five inches tall.
