Description

This jewelry box is made from cherry with a layer of satinwood laminated to the top. The carving goes through the satinwood exposing the cherry below. The hinges are also cherry. It measures 10 1/2 inches by 6, and is 5 inches tall. I find the grain of the satinwood fascinating, and the density allows me to carve precisely. Often people that come to the shop are surprised at the weight of a length of satinwood, as it feels much heavier than one might imagine.
